1. Will I see the same PT every time I come?
Our PT/PTA teams have consistent schedules throughout the week. If you can come around the same time for your appointments, you can see the same therapists. You can always specifically request to be seen by the same therapist you saw for your initial evaluation.
2. Do you charge “facility fees”?
Unlike large hospital systems, we do not charge you or your insurance company facility fees. These fees can cause your bill for physical therapy to be up to three times larger than when you go to a privately owned physical therapy practice like Robbins Rehabilitation.
It’s extremely important to ask this question and get an answer before starting physical therapy.
3. Will I get “Hands On” treatment?
Manual therapy is the term we use for “hands-on treatment. “This can mean a lot of different things. Joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, soft tissue release, manual stretching, nerve mobilization and much more. Manual therapy is one of the cornerstones of every treatment at Robbins Rehabilitation. Exercises are important, but if you have had physical therapy in the past and your therapist rarely laid hands on you, I would argue that you didn’t really get physical therapy.
4. Do you take my insurance?
We perform a complimentary insurance verification for you before your first appointment. Insurance is complicated. Let our experts contact your insurance company and get a full explanation of your benefits for you. We put all the information we gather on the phone into a 1-page explanation of benefits that you get on your first visit.
5. Will I get a treatment plan customized to my specific injury?
Every injury is different, even when it comes to the same body part. All low back pain is not equal. There are very specific causes found through the diagnosis process that need to be addressed with different techniques. Devising a plan specific to your problem is one of the most important factors of a successful outcome in physical therapy.
6. Do you take third party commercial insurance payers?
No—we work directly with the insurance companies as far as billing and payments. We do not work with any company that negotiates payment for services provided. If you have specific questions regarding specific payers, please call Lindsey Heil, Chief Operations Officer at 610-709-6649
